The challenge in any visual art form is to find a subject that inspires one to work at the highest level, to create works of depth and substance as opposed to superficiality. This subject must resonate within one’s spiritual core. In the absence of such inspiration one is left with work that is common, undistinguished and forgettable.

What one sees is not what carries weight, rather how one sees. In examining art which has withstood the test of time, we are struck by the aesthetic quality it embodies. The aesthetic principle, the application and understanding of this science of beauty, is a common thread that runs through these works.  This concept is at the forefront of all of my efforts at image making.

For the past 20 years the abstract rendition of nature has been my focus as I have found nothing as inspirational, peaceful, or spiritually grounding as the form, line and color in nature.
